According to official information received from Klitschko via his official Telegram channel, the tragedy happened in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv during another shelling. In this part of the city, near a building located opposite the emergency medical services station, medical aid was being provided to victims at the time. It was in this district that an unusual and tragic case occurred: a US citizen, approximately 62 years old, was found already without signs of life. Vitali Klitschko described the situation as follows: "Medics confirmed clinical death—biological death." This means that the man had died before the arrival of emergency services, and his death was caused by shrapnel, injuries, or other consequences of the attack. Since the early days of the war, Kyiv and its residents have been facing constant shellings that cynically target not only military objects but also civilian infrastructure and residential areas. As a result, many people are experiencing not only fear and anxiety but also the loss of loved ones and acquaintances. Unfortunately, this case once again confirms that the war continues to claim human lives, regardless of age or citizenship. Ukraine condemns the modern military crimes committed by the Russian army, which seeks not only to destroy infrastructure but also to ruin lives and destinies. The country continues to work jointly with law enforcement agencies and medical services, which are doing everything possible to assist the injured and hold accountable those who deliberately violate international law and humanitarian norms. It is especially important to emphasize that the death of a U.S. citizen further highlights the global nature of this war and its international reach. It also provokes outrage within the global community and amplifies calls for active international action and increased support for Ukraine in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity. Such tragic cases clearly demonstrate that war is a tragedy for all of humanity, and each new victim is a stark reminder to the international community of the urgent need to respond more quickly and act to end the aggression, protect lives, and promote peace.
