S. citizens took to mass protests against President Donald Trump's policies. Several tens of thousands of Americans from various age groups and social strata gathered on Saturday, June 14, in different cities across the country to express their discontent with the actions of the White House leader. Rallies and demonstrations took place in over two thousand localities — from major metropolitan areas like New York City and Los Angeles to smaller towns — indicating the widespread public outrage. Overall, the protest actions were organized under the slogan "No Kings," symbolizing a reminder of the high values of the U.S. democratic system, where no one is above the law. The day of protests coincided with Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, as well as with a large-scale military parade in Washington to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Army — an event that further sparked emotional reactions among the public. The rallies and demonstrations concluded with a large gathering in front of the White House, where participants voiced their opposition to the administration’s actions, particularly concerning immigration policies and military expansion. It is known that the president forbade his supporters from protesting during the military parade, claiming that "protesters will be met with serious force," which led to additional public resonance and further heightened tensions. Against the backdrop of these events, activists also staged protests near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, once again calling for an end to the administration’s policies, which they consider harmful and dangerous for the country. Photos and videos from the protests quickly circulated on social media, showing the tense atmosphere that prevailed in the city. The background of this large movement was steeped in sharp immigration raids initiated by the Trump administration, notably in Los Angeles. On June 8, the U.S. National Guard troops were deployed to the city by presidential order, prompting sharp criticism from California’s leadership, which called the federal actions politically motivated and incomprehensible. This further intensified the conflict between the governorship and federal authorities, adding another facet to the growing internal tensions within the country. These events indicate that amid major festivities and military parades, a deeper political struggle is unfolding in the U.S., unprecedented in recent years. Citizens, including activists and human rights defenders, are increasingly stepping onto the stage to challenge the policies of the current president and to defend the fundamental democratic principles of the country. Conversely, the authorities are reacting harshly, which further amplifies tensions and suggests that the United States is on the cusp of a new phase of conflicts and changes.
