President Zelensky emphasized the need to strengthen effective technological measures to counter enemy attack drones

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his daily address, drew attention to and highlighted the importance of improving the air defense system to combat ongoing enemy drone attacks. He stressed that the situation remains tense due to daily shelling by Russian drones and underscored the necessity of responding to this threat in a significantly more active and technologically efficient manner. During discussions with ministers of defense and internal affairs, as well as with the Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the president outlined the way forward for the development of the defense system. “Russian attack drones remain a daily threat to our sky and the security of the country. To minimize these risks, we must deploy more effective response tools, particularly those of a technological nature,” Zelensky stated. The head of state emphasized that the time spent on creating and improving the air defense system should be used as efficiently as possible. He highlighted that this primarily pertains to the development and deployment of modern interceptor drones within our army. He called for ensuring an adequate number of such drones and conducting additional training for operators so they can respond promptly and accurately to attacks. Zelensky urged all responsible entities to increase the number of air defense systems and to strengthen the coordination among services and units in countering kamikaze drones. “Protecting our sky is not only a technical task but also a comprehensive set of measures that require coordinated work of all forces and means. We need to increase the number of systems and improve their effectiveness,” the president emphasized. In conclusion, Volodymyr Zelensky called on all government officials and military personnel to focus intensely on enhancing the country's defensive capabilities to ensure greater safety for residents and to prevent further destruction from enemy attacks. He stressed that all resources and efforts should be directed toward creating a modern and effective air defense system capable of confronting the most challenging threats from the aggressor.
