Once again, alarming news has emerged from the German capital. In the Charlottenburg-Nord district, one of Berlin’s most populated and historically established neighborhoods, an attack occurred on a 51-year-old Ukrainian man. According to official police reports, the incident took place in the morning while the man was walking his dog in a park. It is believed that at that moment, he was giving commands to his dog in Ukrainian—presumably to control his pet. This seemingly small act appears to have triggered the aggression. Source: "European Pravda" references data from the Berlin police. According to them, around 10 a.m., while the man was in the park, two unidentified persons approached him. Law enforcement officials note that the attackers asked him about his nationality. This question, which likely surprised the Ukrainian, was followed by a sharp and unexpected stab in the stomach. The attacker swiftly fled the scene, and authorities are now actively searching for him and his accomplice. Regarding the victim’s condition — he was immediately taken to the nearest hospital. Medical professionals evaluated his state as stable, and there is currently no threat to his life. Berlin law enforcement officials assure that the attack was deliberate and marked by signs of criminal hostility. Overall, this incident fits into a tragic context — last year in Dortmund, there were events that raise concerns about the safety of Ukrainian refugees and migrants in Germany. Back then, a 15-year-old Ukrainian was attacked with a knife on the street while walking with friends in the evening. Although this case did not result in serious consequences for the young man’s life, it once again underscores the existence of certain risks for Ukrainian citizens abroad. Currently, an investigation is underway in Berlin. Police are making every effort to identify the perpetrator(s), who are likely motivated by xenophobic or racist hostility. The Ukrainian community and local authorities have already expressed their concern over the incident, emphasizing the importance of ensuring safety for all foreigners living and working in the German capital. Unfortunately, events of this kind serve as a stark reminder of the need to strengthen security measures and promote greater tolerance in modern society.
