Escalation of the Conflict: Israel Launches Large-Scale Strikes on Targets in Iran Over 40 Hours
Over more than two days, the Israeli Air Force has been conducting active operations against Iran, stated the spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces, Brigadier General Efrain Defrin. According to him, Israeli pilots have already carried out a series of continuous airstrikes, hitting over 150 different targets in strategic regions of Iran, with a focus on objects related to the nuclear program, military infrastructure, and senior Iranian officials involved in supporting terrorist groups. According to an official statement made during a press conference, Tehran has been the most active area of operations in the past day. Here, as Defrin explained, the primary efforts of the Israeli fighters have been concentrated—launching strikes on strategic military industry objects, nuclear program facilities, and locations where high-ranking officials of the Iranian regime are present. The general emphasized that several strikes aimed to destroy resources that are crucial for supporting Iran’s nuclear, military, and terrorist infrastructure. A particular emphasis was placed on Saturday’s operations by the Air Force. According to the Israeli Ministry of Defense, on that day, Israeli aircraft delivered a powerful blow to an underground military facility located on the country’s western coast. Official information reports that this shelter was used by Iran for storing and launching dozens of ballistic and cruise missiles, posing a threat to regional security. It is known that Israeli fighters destroyed not only the facility itself but also the missile launchers that supplied the rockets. The Israel Defense Forces highlight that this strategic target was previously revealed via propaganda footage disseminated by the Iranian regime. Amid increasing tensions, Iranian state media also report an activation of air defense systems near the strategic port of Bandar Abbas, located on the Persian Gulf coast, as well as in Tehran, the capital. These reports indicate a resumption and intensification of Israeli airstrikes, raising further regional tensions and complicating the situation around Iranian-Israeli relations. According to the latest data, the confrontation between Israel and Iran is escalating, casting doubt on the possibility of a peaceful resolution to the crisis. The scale and duration of the Israeli strikes are causing concern among the international community, which is calling for restraint and dialogue to prevent further escalation of the conflict in the region. So far, there have been no official comments from Iranian government sources regarding the exact consequences of the Israeli operations or potential responses, but the situation remains tense and continues to develop rapidly.
