Weather Forecast for the Weekend in Ukraine: Expect Coolness and Short Showers

Across most of the country, during the weekend, typical early summer phenomena such as light rains and nighttime chill will persist. This information is provided by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center in their forecasts, which have been shared on Facebook and various informational resources, including Interfax-Ukraine. There is a trend towards lowering air temperatures and the likelihood of short-term precipitation, which will bring cool notes to the atmosphere and unexpected showers. According to the forecast for Saturday, June 14, short periods of rain, sometimes with thunderstorms, are expected across almost all of Ukraine, except for the western regions. Night temperatures will stay between 9 and 14°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to 18-23°C, reaching up to 25°C in the south of the country. Thunderstorms may occur in some areas, especially in central and southern regions. Winds will be from the northwest at speeds of 7-12 meters per second, adding to the coolness and freshness of the atmosphere. The Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory recorded that in Kyiv on June 14, the maximum daytime temperature in 1998 reached approximately 33°C, and the minimum was 6.5°C in 1891. In the Carpathian region, nighttime temperatures will drop to 4-9°C, with daytime temperatures rising to 12-17°C. In Kyiv on Saturday, the night will be rain-free, but brief light showers are possible during the day. Air temperatures will fluctuate between 12-14°C at night and 18-20°C during the day, with slight variations possible. Winds will come from the northwest at 7-12 m/s, contributing to the cool and fresh atmosphere. On Sunday, June 15, the situation is expected to remain largely unchanged. Nighttime rain and thunderstorms are anticipated on the Left Bank and other regions, again with northwest winds at 7-12 m/s. Night temperatures will stay within 9-14°C, while daytime temperatures will reach 20-25°C in most areas. The eastern parts of the country are forecasted to have temperatures between 18 and 23°C. In the Carpathians, it will be cool at night, 4-9°C, but daytime temperatures will again climb to 15-20°C. Kyiv on Sunday is unlikely to experience surprises: the night will be rainless, and a short afternoon shower may refresh everyone. Winds will remain from the northwest at 7-12 m/s, fostering a cozy and cool mood in the capital and surrounding regions. Thus, most regions of Ukraine will experience quite cool and variable weather this weekend. Local short showers and thunderstorms will add some festive atmospheric touches but also remind us of the unstable beginning of summer. Regardless of your plans, it is advisable to prepare in advance for possible rainfall and weather changes, and to enjoy the fresh air and coolness.
