Razumkov Calls for Resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers: Gather Votes to Remove Shmyhal and Change the Government’s Course

Chas Pravdy - 13 June 2025 13:32

Former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and current Member of Parliament Dmytro Razumkov has openly called for personnel changes in the country’s executive branch. In his recent address to the public, he emphasized that the Ukrainian government, led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, has suffered catastrophic failures across all key areas of state policy and management. According to him, now is the time to eliminate this ineffective team effort to prevent further deepening of the crisis and to save the country. Source: Dmytro Razumkov’s personal social media account Details: The MP is convinced that the Cabinet has made minimal efforts to address the most acute problems facing Ukrainian society and the state. He pointed out that the government has completely failed in all strategic directions, from economic policy to foreign relations. A clear example is dissatisfaction over insufficient defense funding, which is critically important during wartime. Razumkov urged Prime Minister Shmyhal to make a responsible decision and voluntarily resign, stressing that this step would save time needed to prepare and approve the necessary documentation. Direct quote: “The budget deficit, lack of funds for military needs, and the threat of payments to Ukraine’s defenders have been on the agenda for the second year in a row. Additionally, the failed international policy — primarily the loss of visa-free travel due to government inaction — costs us at least €3.5 billion annually. And the decline in industrial production — minus 6.1%. Rising tariffs and tax pressure lead to the closure of hundreds of thousands of individual entrepreneurs and job losses. Currently, all political forces in parliament must come together, because this government needs to be accountable and responsible to the people. This is not a political game but a vital step for our country. If we do not change this team, we risk losing everything — both our defenders on the front lines fighting with armed hand and the rear structures that ensure the social sector and support for the army.” In his statement, Razumkov emphasized that the current situation in the country requires swift and effective actions not only from the parliament but also from all branches of government. According to him, the government’s failures must be compensated by responsible and decisive leadership, as Ukraine has long needed radical changes in its management system and priorities. The resignation of Shmyhal, in his view, could become the first step toward a new development strategy for the country, fostering economic stabilization, enhanced social justice, and restored international trust. Overall, Dmytro Razumkov called on colleagues in parliament and citizens to actively participate in the discussion and support of the idea of changing the government’s course, stressing that without responsible and effective actions, the country could face an even greater crisis. Only the united efforts of all branches of power can halt this destructive movement and steer the country back toward stable development and security.
