The White House is preparing to hold a series of bilateral meetings as part of the G7 summit, which, in addition to the leading countries of the group, is expected to include the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

According to official sources, active preparations are underway in the American capital for diplomatic events involving leaders of the world's major nations. The White House press service confirmed that during this year's summit, scheduled for June 15-17, a series of separate bilateral meetings will take place. Ukraine, in particular, plans to use the G7 platform to strengthen bilateral relations with the United States, as well as to discuss pressing security and diplomatic issues. US President's Administration spokesperson Caroline Leavitt stated during a press briefing in Washington: "I can confirm that several bilateral meetings are scheduled between President Donald Trump and other foreign leaders." At the same time, she refrained from specifying the format and timing of meetings with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, adding: "The White House is still diligently working on finalizing this schedule, and we will publish it once it is approved." In particular, the Ukrainian office emphasizes the importance of a meeting between Zelenskyy and the U.S. leadership at the G7 summit. According to Ukrainian officials, they aim to use this opportunity to highlight key issues of the country's foreign policy and security, as well as to strengthen the strategic partnership with Washington. Specifically, arrangements are being made for a personal meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump, which will become one of the main diplomatic events during the summit. Last week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed receiving an invitation to participate in the G7 summit. He expressed hope that he would be able to hold an important meeting with his American counterpart to discuss security, support, and further steps in the bilateral relations. The Ukrainian side’s expectations are also supported by diplomatic sources, who note that high-level talks could provide a powerful impetus for enhancing cooperation in areas such as economy, defense, and humanitarian efforts. The anticipated G7 summit will serve as one of the key platforms for discussing global challenges, where Ukraine aims to draw the international community’s attention to the situation in the eastern part of the country and encourage continued support from leading Western nations. Thus, preparations for the summit are ongoing, and all signs point to the possibility of active diplomatic dialogue that will be significant for the further development of Ukrainian-American relations and for ensuring the country’s security amid international instability.
