Rubio congratulates Russians on Russia Day and calls for constructive dialogue between the USA and Russia
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in his official address, congratulated the Russian people on Russia Day, emphasizing the United States’ commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. In his statement, released through the official website of the U.S. Department of State, the diplomat noted that America remains dedicated to supporting the Russian people, who are seeking a path toward a bright and progressive future. The head of the U.S. Department of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that, despite current hardships and challenges, the countries can find common ground for constructive cooperation. According to him, the United States aims to strengthen mutually beneficial relations with Russia based on mutual respect and dialogue. “On behalf of the people of the United States, I sincerely wish to congratulate the Russians on their national holiday. We support the Russian people's aspirations for peace and prosperity, and their pursuit of new heights in building a future filled with hope and opportunities. I also want to assure you that the United States remains open to constructive engagement with the Russian Federation, with the goal of contributing to achieving a fair and lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine,” Rubio stated in his address. He added that a peaceful settlement of the conflict is in the interests of both sides and could help improve bilateral relations on a global scale. In this context, it is important to recall that the situation around Ukraine remains tense. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Russian military losses have significantly increased and have already exceeded one million casualties, including killed and wounded soldiers. This indicates the prolonged and large-scale nature of the war, bringing human devastation and infrastructure destruction. While the U.S. position remains open to dialogue, the international community is closely monitoring developments on the front lines and in diplomatic circles. The prospects for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict and the possibility of establishing long-term peace remain among the top objectives for many countries, including the United States and Ukraine.
