In Donetsk Region, Russian occupiers once again carried out brutal shelling of civilians, using FPV drones to target peaceful targets

As a result of this attack, according to the latest reports, two civilians have been killed and four others wounded of varying severity, reports the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office. The incident began early in the morning on June 12. At 10:40 a.m., enemy forces launched a targeted strike on the village of Illinivka in Kramatorsk district using kamikaze drones. A few minutes after the attack, a tragedy unfolded in the local community. The most affected was a 79-year-old pensioner, who was near a public transport stop at the time. As a result of the explosion hitting her home, her injuries were so severe that medical professionals could not save her life. The woman died on site, leaving behind an irreplaceable loss for her family and all who knew her. In addition to the fatal incident, the attack wounded two more civilians. At 11:00 a.m. local time, armed drones reappeared in the sky — this time targeting a city bus stop in Kramatorsk. As a result, a 52-year-old bus driver and a female passenger were injured; they were quickly evacuated to medical facilities. Their injuries are currently being assessed, but it is already known that both received the necessary treatment. Later, just two hours after the first incident, Russian forces once again used FPV drones, this time to attack the city of Mykolayiv, part of the Druzhkivka territorial community. In this case, a 35-year-old man was killed during the shelling. According to law enforcement officials, the man was inside his vehicle when he was hit by a mine or shrapnel, resulting in instant death. Additionally, two other civilians sustained mine-explosive injuries, shrapnel wounds, and bruises — they were transported to the nearest hospital for urgent care. It is emphasized once more that the use of FPV drones by the Russian army is one of the aggressive tactics employed by the occupiers, leading to tragic consequences for the peaceful residents of Donetsk region. These ruthless attacks violate international law and result in civilian casualties, including the elderly and young children, whom the Armed Forces of Ukraine and volunteers strive to protect. Local authorities and law enforcement demand that the international community increase pressure on Russia to cease such war crimes and to ensure the safety of the region's civilians.
