On June 11, Wednesday, the Ukrainian army took another significant step in strengthening its defensive capabilities. According to official reports, Robert "Madjar" Brovdi, known for his extensive experience in the field of unmanned systems, has officially assumed the duties of Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces. On this day, Brovdi announced via Telegram that he had taken on this responsible position and had already begun fulfilling his responsibilities. "On June 11, 2025, I accepted the responsibilities and the position of Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces. I am committed to serving the people of Ukraine faithfully and devotedly. The countdown of the first 100 days has already begun. During this time, we have accepted the challenge and set ambitious goals. The commanders and team will work with full responsibility and organization,” he stated in his message. Already on the front lines, Brovdi is operating in Donbas, which demonstrates his proximity to combat actions and critical operational tasks in this region. This fact underscores the level of trust in his professional skills and strategic vision. What led up to this appointment? Earlier in June, President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the commanders of several key units of the Ukrainian military. Specifically, on June 3, the head of state approved new leadership for the Unmanned Systems Forces and the Air Assault Forces. According to the Minister of Defense, the appointment of Brovdi as commander is the result of his many years of diligent work and experience gained in one of the best brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The minister emphasized that this experience needs to be scaled up to make the unmanned systems more effective and capable of countering the enemy’s aggression. Electing Robert Brovdi to this responsible position is a significant step in the reform of military structures and an indication that Ukrainian leadership is actively seeking innovative solutions to gain an advantage in modern warfare. His experience and future activities have the potential to substantially enhance and improve the deployment of drone technologies within Ukraine’s armed forces, which is one of the key directions of the country's modern defense policy. The deployment of a new command structure in this high-tech sphere opens new opportunities for increasing combat potential, reducing risks to personnel, and improving tactical capabilities in the fight against the enemy. Therefore, the start of Brovdi’s work in this system is a step toward the future, which Ukraine aims to make as effective and resilient as possible, given the rapid development of technologies and military strategies. We should now look forward to the results and the initial tactical successes of the new team in the ongoing struggle for the integrity and sovereignty of our country.
