Security Measures in Lviv: SBU Announces Large-Scale Counter-Intelligence Operation
In June, major counter-intelligence activities will take place in Lviv, conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The operation will run from the 12th to the 16th and aims to strengthen the region's defense capabilities during this challenging period of Russian aggression. The Lviv regional SBU administration emphasizes that these measures will cover all districts of the city and are intended to detect and neutralize potential intelligence or subversive actions that could threaten the security of Ukrainian citizens and the state as a whole. According to official information, not only personnel from the Lviv SBU office will be involved in the planned security activities, but also officers from the National Police. This collaborative approach will allow for maximum control enhancement and rapid response to possible challenges. The main goal of the operation is to prevent any attempts by external agents to carry out provocative or sabotage activities, as well as to clear the urban environment of potential threats that could be exploited by the enemy to destabilize the situation in the region. It is noted that during the counter-intelligence measures, access restrictions to certain territories and streets will be implemented. Citizens will be subjected to document checks, vehicle inspections, and additional preventative measures may be taken against individuals if there is sufficient suspicion of their involvement in illegal or subversive activities. Furthermore, inspections of public premises and areas are planned to identify and confiscate prohibited items or materials that could be used for sabotage purposes.
