According to local authorities, enemy drones and strike drones targeted one of the key social infrastructure facilities — a maternity hospital in the central part of the city. As a result of this attack, the administrative buildings of the medical facility were damaged; however, fortunately, no fatalities or injuries were reported among patients or medical personnel during this incident. Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov told local media: “As a result of the night attack with strike drones, the administrative part of the maternity hospital was damaged. Fortunately, there are no victims or injuries.” He also stated that the war continues to leave its destructive mark on the city, which remains under constant threat of missile and drone strikes from Russian occupying forces. It is known that the attack was specifically aimed at medical infrastructure, which has caused significant concern and outrage among local residents and medical staff. Despite the damage to the administrative premises, the main medical rooms — the wards with patients and newborns — remained intact, and the medical personnel promptly took measures to minimize the attack's consequences. Military and civil authorities of Odessa are calling on citizens to exercise caution and be tolerant of possible new provocations in the region. The local police and security services are actively investigating all circumstances of this night attack, conducting necessary investigative actions, and implementing security measures around critical city infrastructure. This incident once again highlights the high likelihood of new provocations and missile strikes from Russia, which currently represent one of the main challenges for the defense and security of Odessa and the entire southern Ukraine. The public is urged to remain calm and follow the recommendations of local authorities, as the situation remains quite tense and unpredictable.
