Night Shelling of Odesa: Two People Killed, Residential Buildings and Infrastructure Damaged

On the night of June 10, Odesa was again hit by a powerful attack from Russian drones. According to information received from the Odesa Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the Odesa Regional Military Administration, the city was subjected to a serious strike from the early hours, resulting in at least two fatalities and injuries to nine other people of various ages. Official data confirm that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation used more than ten strike drones in the attack. Preliminary reports indicate that approximately 10-11 drones were involved, causing damage to several infrastructure facilities and residential areas in the city. As a result of the large-scale attack, a man born in 1967 was found dead under the rubble. Multiple residential buildings, private and public facilities were damaged, including a maternity hospital, an ambulance station, a small private clinic, a sports complex, a zoo, as well as the railway station and numerous cars belonging to residents. Law enforcement agencies report that the aftermath of the night attack is still being investigated. Specialists, together with investigators, are working at the sites—documenting destruction, assessing the extent of damage, and determining the exact number of victims. Currently, nine people are known to have been injured—five women, three men, and one individual who experienced a severe stress reaction requiring additional medical care. Rescue services and law enforcement quickly arrived at the scenes of the destruction to provide first aid and stabilize the situation. At present, efforts are underway to evacuate people from damaged facilities, conduct search and rescue operations, and assess the extent of the damage. Information is also being verified regarding potential impact centers and possible destruction of children’s and medical facilities. Regarding previous reports, only one death and some damage in the residential sector were mentioned on the night of June 10. As the number of fatalities and damages increases, the situation surrounding the shelling becomes more severe. Local authorities and law enforcement emphasize that all efforts are focused on quickly establishing the reasons for the attack and preparing to prevent similar incidents in the future.
