It is now the twelfth day, and Donetsk region is once again under relentless fire from Russian occupation forces
In the past 24 hours alone, the region experienced 27 large-scale shellings, resulting in the tragic loss of three civilian lives and injuries of eight more with varying severity. These attacks once again highlight the dangerous and destructive reality in which thousands of people living in the frontline areas are forced to endure. According to Vadym Filaškiin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, enemy shells hit residential buildings, infrastructure objects, and civilian facilities in several districts of the region, including Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, and Bakhmut. For example, in Pokrovsk, active shelling brought a tragedy — one civilian was killed, another person sustained serious injuries, and one residential building where civilians lived was destroyed. In the city of Rodynske, a multi-story building was damaged by shells, and in Mrynohrad, one person was killed, another wounded, and four residential buildings were damaged. In the Shakhivska community, the terrorists acted with particular aggression. In Boykivka, a local resident was injured, and a vehicle was destroyed, while in Novyi Shakhove, a residential building was damaged. Simultaneously, in Novotroitske, two garages and warehouse premises were damaged, and in Volodymyrivka, two residential buildings were hit. Several settlements in Kramatorsk district were also affected by shelling. In Lyman, infrastructure was damaged; in Yarova, two private houses and a vehicle were destroyed, resulting in one fatality and injuries to two others; in Kramatorsk, two people were wounded due to enemy strikes. The situation was equally tense in Starorizke, part of Druzhkivka community. There, four private homes, a store, and a car were damaged. In Illinivka, four non-residential premises were destroyed. In Kostiantynivka, Russian shells wounded one person, destroyed 15 buildings, and damaged two vehicles. In Novodmytrivka, two residential buildings and an administrative facility were damaged, and in Virolyubivka, six private houses were shelled. In the north of the region, in Siversk (Bakhmut district), six private households were damaged, indicating the scale of destruction and suffering caused to civilians. These destructive actions by the occupiers demonstrate the high level of aggression with which they are waging war against the civilian population of Donetsk. More than ever before, Ukrainians are striving to remain brave and united in the face of the ruthless occupation. Authorities and defenders of the region continue to work tirelessly on strengthening defensive positions and providing assistance to those affected, aiming to reduce the extent of destruction and save as many lives as possible. Understanding the full scale of the tragedy brought by this unprecedented level of violence, residents of Donetsk and all Ukraine are calling on the international community to intensify support and take urgent action to end the aggression and protect peaceful civilians. At the same time, Ukrainian military personnel and volunteers continue their fight to restore peace and tranquility in the region, which daily witnesses new tragedies but also displays acts of resilience and faith in victory.
