For example, in Cheboksary, in the Chuvash Republic, a major incident occurred involving a fire at one of the key enterprises directly involved in Russia’s defense capabilities. According to official sources, a fire broke out at the site of JSC "VNDIR-Progress" following recent drone attacks. This enterprise specializes in the development and production of radio-electronic warfare equipment, including "Komet" receivers, which are particularly important for protecting Russian drones from Ukrainian EW systems. As reported by Oleg Nikolaev, the head of the Chuvash Republic, two drones were shot down during the attack and fell onto the factory premises. As a result, a decision was made to temporarily halt production activities at the facility to ensure the safety of personnel and prevent further negative consequences. Ground military and civilian structures, according to the official, are currently operating in heightened alert. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries among personnel have been reported. Local authorities additionally stated that another drone was burned in a field near Cheboksary, and a similar incident occurred in the Krasnoarmeysky district—both incidents do not pose threats to residents or people's lives. The circumstances and scale of the fire are being covered by investigative journalists on social media, particularly on the Telegram channel Astra, where a considerable number of photos and videos from the scene of the incident have been published. Analysts note that this attack has strategic significance—it aims to destroy the production of military equipment, specifically the "Komet" receivers, which are crucial for the protection system of Russian drones. The official website of the enterprise belongs to the manufacturing conglomerate "ABS Elektro," which specializes in creating scientific and technical products, automated control systems, electronics, and radio-electronic components, including electronic modules and radio-electronic products for military purposes. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that during the night, aircraft air defense allegedly shot down and intercepted 49 Ukrainian drones, mostly of an aerial type. According to military reports, 13 drones were destroyed in the Kursk and Nizhny Novgorod regions, nine in Voronezh and Oryol, two in the Bryansk and Chuvash Republics, and another in Belgorod region of Russia. These events fit into the broader context of military actions, where Ukrainian special operations and attacks remain a persistent challenge for Russian defense. The losses of strategic targets serve as a reminder of the increasing military tension in the region. Russian officials and military experts emphasize that the situation will remain tense, with future actions depending on the scale and nature of new attacks in the near future. Overall, the incident in Cheboksary highlights the growing role of sabotage actions by Ukraine aimed at damaging Russian defense facilities of strategic importance for the Russian Federation. This once again demonstrates the instability and high activity of military operations in the region, which, according to analysts, could complicate the situation in the coming months, leading to increased security measures and additional restrictions in the area.
