The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Sinegubov, publicly and extensively voiced his thoughts regarding the large-scale Russian attacks that shook Kharkiv on June 7

According to him, the situation around Kharkiv remains tense and alarming due to an unprecedented number of shellings employed by the Kremlin with the aim of destabilizing the region. In an interview with the public broadcaster "Suspilne Kharkiv," he emphasized that the aggressor is trying to defeat our country not only through military means but also through terror using so-called "secondary" tools — city shellings and infrastructure destruction. "Russian troops cannot accept defeats on the battlefield. Therefore, they are intensively resorting to terror against the peaceful residents of our city. They deliberately attempt to intimidate the population and destroy the economy. It is no secret that they target business structures as well, trying to undermine stability and the ability of Kharkiv to sustain itself and maintain continuity in its work and development," the official stated. Sinegubov highlighted that the primary target of the enemy is likely Kharkiv's energy infrastructure. However, he assured that our armed forces are actively countering these assaults, implementing the most effective measures and defense strategies to protect the city and its inhabitants from widespread destruction. Background of the events: On the night of June 7, Russian forces launched a massive and very intense shelling of Kharkiv, using kamikaze drones, guided aerial bombs, and rockets. According to official reports, three people were killed as a result of this attack, with 22 others wounded, including a one-and-a-half-month-old baby. This incident once again demonstrated how cruel and targeted the enemy's efforts are to break the resistance of Ukrainians by destroying entire neighborhoods and vital infrastructure. Massive shellings continued on Saturday at 17:35, when Russian forces struck the Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts of Kharkiv with four guided aerial bombs. As a result, a 30-year-old Ukrainian Railways employee, who was nearby at the time, was killed. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported more than 40 wounded in these missile attacks, with several in critical condition. According to medical services, one of the injured unfortunately died in the hospital, and two others remain in critical condition. This confirms the scale of destruction and human loss caused by the relentless attacks of Russian troops. Overall, the situation remains tense and very dangerous for Kharkiv residents, who are repeatedly forced to seek shelter in bomb shelters amid witnessing the destruction of their homes, infrastructure, and community. In response to such aggression, the Ukrainian armed forces are actively countering, trying to halt the enemy and reduce casualties. Meanwhile, city authorities urge residents to stay calm, follow safety rules, and be prepared for upcoming alerts. The war continues, and Kharkiv repeatedly proves that it will remain resilient and steadfast in its fight for freedom and independence.
