Explosions have once again been heard in Zaporizhzhia — the city came under attack by Russian troops, causing panic and infrastructure damage. According to official reports, there is currently one injured man, and in some areas of the city, witnesses noticed thick smoke, indicating a large fire or damage. Based on information released by Zaporizhzhia Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov on his Telegram channel, the attack occurred around 20:04. At that time, a series of explosions were heard across the region, and an air defense system was activated. Ukrainian Air Force reports indicate that kamikaze attack drones (UAVs) were actively used during this assault, targeting Zaporizhzhia and several other regions. In his statement, Fedorov emphasized: “The smoke visible in certain districts of the city is a consequence of the enemy attack by the Russians. Local emergency services are already working on the scene to assess the destruction and assist the injured.” He clarified that, so far, one man aged 23 has been reported wounded with moderate injuries and is currently hospitalized. Local residents report visible damage to residential buildings, shattered windows, damaged structures, and numerous debris on the streets. The situation remains tense, as there may be further shelling or new attacks. Authorities are urging residents to stay in shelters and follow safety guidelines. Depending on circumstances, the Zaporizhzhia community continues to live under the constant threat of new missile or drone strikes, as Russian forces have intensified their efforts in the region. Information resources emphasize the importance of heightened security measures and prompt response to emergencies. Deputies, local authorities, and the regional administration have already held meetings to coordinate measures against incidents and assist the injured. Witnesses highlight the importance of unity and mutual support during critical times, and authorities guarantee that everything possible is being done to stabilize the situation and protect the population. Currently, the city has declared a state of increased readiness, and emergency services are responding to any new alerts. Local residents hope for a swift end to the aggression and the return of peaceful life, though that prospect currently seems quite distant. We remain vigilant and continue to monitor updates from the region.
