Russian drones attacked Ukrainian territories again: on Sunday evening, a wave of enemy strike UAVs swept across the country, causing significant alarm among the population and raising the level of combat readiness in air defense systems
According to Ukrainian military sources and official statements, including the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the situation is being actively monitored, and defense forces are diligently protecting the airspace. Residents of Kyiv and several other regions have long been accustomed to this rhythm. On Sunday evening, several Ukrainian regions received alerts about the movement of enemy kamikaze drones. It is reported that Ukrainian air defense systems were activated in Kyiv region. An official representative of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration explicitly stated at the end of the day: “Kyiv region! Movement of enemy UAVs detected. Air defense forces are operating in the area.” This signal surprised everyone, as local authorities promptly urged residents to stay in shelters and remain prepared for potential consequences. Overall, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, during the nighttime and the evening preceding, the enemy attempted to use strike drones not only in Kyiv region but also in other parts of Ukraine: Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Zaporizhzhia regions. This indicates a systematic and targeted tactic by Russian forces—they continue provocative attacks aimed at weakening Ukrainian defenses, creating panic among the population, and demonstrating their ability to strike even deep in the rear. Ukrainian defense forces are mobilizing all resources for effective countermeasures. Over the past day alone, multiple attempts to destroy or intercept drones have been recorded. At the same time, security measures at key infrastructure, residential areas, and strategic points are being reinforced. Sources within military circles report that despite Russian efforts, Ukrainian forces possess sufficient experience and technical capability to respond quickly and neutralize enemy drones. However, these attacks once again reveal that a systematic battle for control over the country’s airspace is ongoing. Every day for Ukrainians is a new challenge and persistent fight for security and independence. The deep internal tension caused by ongoing hostilities and the constant threat of new enemy attacks create an intense atmosphere in almost all regions of Ukraine.
