Moscow and the occupied regions of Crimea have reports of another large-scale attack by Ukraine, allegedly affecting several Russian provinces and the peninsula. According to official information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, over 60 Ukrainian-origin drones were launched during the night from Saturday to Sunday, intercepted and destroyed by air defense forces. According to statements from Russian military authorities, the incident occurred between 23:00 Moscow time on June 7 and 07:30 on June 8. The Russian Defense Ministry reports that during this period, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 61 unmanned aerial vehicles, which, according to official representatives, were exclusively of Ukrainian origin and headed toward Russian territories. The official version states that most of these were "kamikaze" drones targeting infrastructure or military objects in areas along the borders. Specifically, these devices were shot down over the territories of Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol, and Kursk regions, as well as in Moscow and occupied Crimea. The Russian Defense Ministry assures that all attempts by Ukrainian drones to breach Russian airspace were successfully neutralized by their air defense systems, and no serious consequences for the population or infrastructure objects occurred, they claim. Meanwhile, Kyiv interprets these statements from Russian officials ambiguously, emphasizing that the information about the war in space and time fully coincides with Moscow's internal propaganda and aims to increase tension and anxiety within society. It is expected that this news will become one of the main information topics in Russia, where authorities and pro-government media actively promote the image of a Ukrainian threat. At the same time, Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on such events, maintaining silence or focusing on other aspects of the situation at the front. Overall, this attack, according to the Russian official version, highlights the region's complexity and instability, as well as the increasing activity of Ukrainian drones, which more frequently demonstrate their capabilities near borders and occupied territories. At the same time, Ukrainian military and intelligence, according to analysts, have yet to confirm the scale or nature of such sabotage. It is also worth noting that the situation around drone use and countermeasures remains one of the hottest topics in the context of the Ukraine war, as it opens new strategic possibilities for both sides, while also raising questions about the safety of the civilian population and infrastructure objects in Russia's border regions.
