On the night of June 8th, Ukrainian defenders became the target of a large-scale attack by Russian forces, who deployed nearly fifty unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and several high-precision missiles

According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, the enemy carried out a cynical assault using 49 Shahed-type drones and various models of drone-imitation devices, as well as launching an "Oniks" anti-ship missile and two guided X-59/69 aircraft missiles. This nighttime attack was one of the most extensive in recent times, and Ukrainian military forces immediately began actions to neutralize the enemy. Official information indicates that air defense systems managed to destroy 40 out of the 49 hostile UAVs of the Shahed type. Specifically, 22 drones were neutralized by fire means before reaching their targets, and 18 aircraft were visually identified as unsuccessful attempts, likely lost by the enemy. The main directions of the likely strikes are Kharkiv region and Donetsk region, according to the Ukrainian Air Forces. As a result of the shelling, five pinpoint hits were recorded; despite all efforts to counteract, damage or destruction occurred in at least five locations. Russian military forces continue demonstrating their ability to deliver high-tech strikes, employing a wide range of UAVs and missile systems, which pose a serious threat to Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian populations. Ukrainian defenders, despite significant losses and the challenging situation, persistently hold the line, confronting the unique challenges posed by modern aggressor technologies.
