According to him, the air defense system was activated and began selectively intercepting potentially dangerous targets. In his reports, he mentioned that by 4 a.m., the armed forces had shot down the first three drones. Over time, the situation escalated: by 5:59 p.m., Sobyanin reported an additional three destroyed drones; at 6:51 p.m., another three; and at 7:06 p.m., two more targets were intercepted and destroyed. With each report of a potential attack, the city and its residents received information that emergency response services were working at the site of falling debris — indicating that, despite signs of intrusion, the situation was actively monitored and managed by specialists. One of the key moments was the announcement at 6:53 a.m., when it was officially declared that the "Vnukovo" and "Domodedovo" airports had suspended operations. This decision was made to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, and to wait for the completion of procedures to identify and neutralize potential threats.
