A new act of aggression has occurred in Sumy Region, carried out by Russian invaders, which has disrupted the peace of local residents and caused serious consequences for civilians
According to reports from regional authorities and law enforcement agencies, several civilians, including a pregnant woman, were injured during the shooting of a drone, specifically a Russian attack drone. The incident took place in Nedryhailivska community, located in the northeastern part of Sumy Region. Preliminary information indicates that a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle, likely of the "Lantset" type, entered the territory of the community and launched an attack, resulting in destruction and casualties. As a result, a 28-year-old pregnant woman was wounded; she is currently hospitalized. Another local resident, aged 43, was also injured. In addition to human casualties, vehicles were damaged, and stores and private outbuildings suffered destruction during the attack. It is also noted that on the eve of these hostilities, the occupiers attacked not only this village but also other peaceful settlements in the region. For example, in Esman community of Shostka district, a Russian drone struck civilians, injuring a 60-year-old man. It should be emphasized that the enemy employed terror tactics against civilians, aiming to sow fear and discord within the region. These new armed attacks by Russian occupation forces cause even greater concern among local residents and authorities. According to information from the Sumy Prosecutor’s Office and military officials, the attacking drone was apparently aimed not merely at enemy targets but at creating panic among the population. This aligns with tactics of using unmanned aerial vehicles as weapons of mass destruction, which are becoming increasingly common in both informational and physical warfare. Let us recall that the situation in Sumy Region remains tense. Russian troops continue to use drones for sabotage and attacks on peaceful objects. Last week, it became known that the occupiers seized the village of Loknia, located in the same region, further worsening the situation and depriving the local population of peaceful life. Representatives of Ukrainian authorities are concerned about the rising number of such attacks and emphasize that each incident is not just an act of aggression against individuals or objects but part of a systematic strategy of intimidation against civilians, violating all international norms and rules of war. Authorities are urging residents to stay vigilant, avoid panic, and report any violations to law enforcement agencies. It is evident that the Russian leadership is using drones as tools of terror and psychological pressure, seeking to sow chaos in the rear of Ukrainian defenders and civilians.
