Ukrainian Security Service personnel successfully completed an operation to apprehend two individuals suspected of involvement in the explosion of a prosecutor’s car in Dnipro, which occurred on June 6 of this year

This is another vivid example of how Ukrainian special services actively combat the Russian intelligence network, which aims to destabilize the situation within the country and carries out targeted attacks against representatives of the justice system. According to the SBU, the perpetrators were caught red-handed and turned out to be two local residents whom Russian intelligence agencies successfully recruited through popular Telegram channels in search of "easy money." Their identification and detention resulted from persistent and coordinated efforts by Ukrainian security agencies, who tracked the movements of the suspicious individuals, monitored their connection with their handlers in Russia, and uncovered their involvement in organizing the terrorist act. More details: according to investigators, the young men selected the target, tracking the route of the potential victim—a prosecutor. They then received an order from their curator to blow up the vehicle using an improvised explosive device (IED). All these actions were recorded on video, which will serve as additional evidence during the investigation. According to official information, the suspects are directly involved in planting the explosive under the prosecutor’s car. As a result, the officer sustained minor injuries, while his vehicle was completely destroyed. Medical sources indicate that the victim’s life is currently not at risk. Preliminary information suggests his condition is stable and does not pose an additional danger. The detainees are already providing testimony and cooperating with law enforcement agencies, which indicates progress in the criminal investigation. As of today, they are charged under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—terrorist act committed by a group. This article prescribes imprisonment for up to 12 years, with the possibility of life imprisonment if court rulings and proof of guilt are established. For reference: this is yet another raid against Russian clandestine networks in Ukraine and a demonstration of the systematic resistance to informational and hybrid aggression. Ukraine conducts round-the-clock efforts to combat destabilizing elements that seek to sow fear and insecurity among the population. As a result of such successful operations, Ukrainian law enforcement enhances the security of justice workers and strengthens the overall safety level in the region. It is important to note that the perpetrators face up to 12 years in prison, and the judicial system is already reviewing their case to deliver a final verdict soon. This sends a clear signal: government authorities protect every citizen and respond to any threats, wherever they may arise.
