On the night of June 7, the Kherson city community was once again subjected to enemy shelling, as confirmed by representatives of local authorities and defense forces. According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, as a result of the attack, a married couple was killed — a man aged 56 and a woman aged 54. Two other people sustained minor injuries. This night served as another reminder of the danger looming over the peaceful population of the region every day. "We are witnessing yet another act of terror — residential buildings came under enemy fire. Two multi-storey buildings were damaged, leading to tragic consequences. Unfortunately, among the victims are a married couple living nearby," Prokudin stated in his official report. According to him, the destruction affected not only structures but also deeply wounded the hearts of local residents who lost loved ones. Additionally, in the early morning hours, city visitors again heard explosions and reports of a drone attack. According to military and rescue services, a strike was carried out by a drone on a civilian vehicle in one of the city districts — Dnipro district. As a result, two people were targeted by Russian drones and suffered severe injuries. "A 65-year-old man sustained a mine-explosive injury, with wounds to the head, neck, chest, and forearm. His condition remains serious, and medical personnel are providing necessary assistance. Another injured person is a 60-year-old woman who received wounds to her arm and collarbone. Both victims were quickly evacuated to medical facilities for urgent treatment," reported the Regional State Administration. Experts and authorities note that these attacks confirm the aggressor’s intention to sow panic and deepen the humanitarian crisis in a region where the population is already under constant stress due to shelling, destruction, and shortages of essential resources. Local officials urge residents to remain cautious, and law enforcement agencies are working to strengthen protection measures and emergency response capabilities. Overall, the situation in Kherson and the surrounding region remains tense. Local authorities and volunteers are putting maximum effort into stabilizing the situation, evacuating the injured, and repairing damaged buildings. Hope remains for a swift ceasefire and the return of peace, which would allow life in this city — long a symbol of Ukrainian resistance in the south — to be restored.
