Russia may deploy up to a thousand unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Ukraine in a single massive attack — this alarming information was disclosed at the Ukrainian command level

The Ukrainian Air Force warns that Moscow continues to enhance its capabilities in the field of unmanned strike systems and may stop only at the threshold — using a thousand drones simultaneously to attack Ukrainian territory. The statement about the likelihood of a large-scale attack was made by Yuriy Ignat, head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, during a live broadcast of a telethon. According to him, the Ukrainian military must be prepared for an increase in the number of hostile drones in the air, as this trend is clear and inevitable. "We need to prepare for an increase in the number of drones because that is the tendency," he emphasized. Ignat said that modern Russian aviation already uses up to 500 drones per night. This means that the enemy is constantly trying to strengthen its tactics and is increasing the number of attack drones. Furthermore, there is a real possibility that the Russians will be able to launch up to a thousand UAVs simultaneously for a coordinated attack on Ukrainian infrastructure and military targets. "It is possible to talk about a thousand Russian drones in the air, but for now, we have figures that are already confirmed — the enemy uses up to 500 drones per night. These numbers are not final and could grow," Ignat noted. "We must be ready for any scenario because the history of daily attacks has already shown us that the enemy does not stop and is significantly increasing its capabilities." Background on restless nights. On Sunday, June 7, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 215 air attack means. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, most of these means were neutralized — out of 215 drones and rockets, the enemy lost 174. This is not the first case of large-scale attacks — on June 1, the Russians used a record number of weapons: 479 means, most of which were shot down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukrainian air defense systems destroyed 3 cruise missiles and 210 small drones, but 172 UAVs were lost due to the complexity of countering them. These attacks once again demonstrate that Russia continues to intensify its offensive tactics in the air, aiming to weaken Ukrainian defenses as much as possible. There is a trend toward an increasing number of drones in the enemy's military actions, generating greater concern among Ukrainian defenders and policymakers. Ukraine must not only improve its air defense systems but also carefully analyze and forecast possible scenarios to respond promptly to any massive air strikes. Thus, the threat of massive Russian drone attacks remains one of the most pressing issues — and the Ukrainian side calls for raising the level of readiness to meet any scenario on its own terms. Given the experience of the past weeks, solving the problem requires not only defending but also actively modernizing detection and destruction systems for air targets, to avoid catastrophic consequences from a possible thousandfold attack in the future.
