President Zelensky confirmed: the “Spider Web” operation was exclusively Ukrainian in weaponry, with no aid from allies used

Ukraine has strengthened its defenses and struck strategic targets in Russia, completing a large-scale special operation called "Spider Web." After successfully hitting Russian aircraft, destroying key strategic bombers at several Russian airfields, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an important statement in an interview with ABC News. The head of state emphasized that Ukrainian law enforcement used solely their own weapons, and the equipment used during the operation did not come from foreign stockpiles, specifically not from allied reserves. "I wanted all efforts to be focused solely on our weapons," Zelensky said. "This was a principled position, and I can assure you that the distinction in this matter was absolutely clear. We used only what we produce ourselves and did not employ any technology or equipment obtained from external sources, from our international partners or allies." The President of Ukraine also highlighted the nuances of the operation and stressed that Russian drivers and personnel, who transported mobile homes and various containers, even did not suspect that advanced spy drones or precision weaponry for targeting strategic objectives were concealed beneath the outer shells of these objects. This demonstrates the high level of skill of Ukrainian intelligence in covert operations, which complicates enemy efforts to counteract. Recall that the "Spider Web" operation was carried out on June 1 by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and became one of the most effective strikes against Russian aviation since the beginning of the war. According to SBU head Vasyl Maluk, approximately 34% of the strategic aviation forces stationed at four key Russian airbases were destroyed. This marked a significant part of the deep strategic defense system of the aggressor country and is believed to considerably strengthen Ukraine's position in this war. It was also noted that this operation became an important stage in the strategy of positional pressure on Russia and its military potential. Thanks to the use of advanced technologies and meticulous planning, Ukrainian specialists managed not only to hit targets but also to minimize risks for their military personnel and civilians. Overall, according to Zelensky, this operation serves as another proof that Ukrainian forces are capable of high-tech and effective actions, remaining independent of international assistance in terms of weapons and equipment. He emphasized: "We aimed to act in a way that maximizes our self-sufficiency. This is important for preserving our independence and sovereignty in this war."
