On the night of June 6 to 7, the city of Kharkiv once again became the target of a large-scale attack by Russian aggressors, who deployed all their available military equipment, including kamikaze drones, guided bombs, and missiles. As a result of this destructive assault, significant material damage was inflicted, and human casualties occurred. According to official information provided by the leadership of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and the city authorities, three civilians were killed, and 17 others were injured, including two children. According to Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the attack was exceptionally powerful and large-scale. Over fifty Shahed-type drones, as well as several guided bombs and missiles, were launched at the city. The most severely affected districts were Kyivsky and Osnovyansky, which were targeted in a deliberate strike. Destroyed and Damaged Objects In Kyivsky District, Russian forces attacked a civilian manufacturing enterprise. Preliminary reports indicate that the simultaneous impact of 40 drones, three guided bombs, and one missile caused a fire at the factory’s territory, covering approximately 10,000 square meters. The fire spread across four workshop buildings, leading to substantial destruction and potentially trapping people under the debris. Rescue services are currently working to locate and evacuate victims. In Osnovyansky District, the situation is even more tense. A drone struck a nine-story residential building. The fire engulfed 12 apartments on the seventh, eighth, and ninth floors. The total area of the blaze was about 600 square meters. During firefighting efforts, rescuers pulled out a woman from the rubble, who is now receiving medical care, and two cars were burned. Additionally, several fires broke out in the city outskirts due to attacks on open terrain. Three Shahed drones fell into an abandoned, disused cattle barn, and five other drones were detected and destroyed in open areas. A fire broke out there but was quickly extinguished by firefighters. Human Losses and Destruction Unfortunately, the consequences of the rocket and drone attack proved tragic. According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Oleg Sinegubov, three civilians were killed in the Osnovyansky district, and 17 more were injured of varying severity. Among the injured are two children, highlighting the devastating scale of destruction and human loss. Dozens of buildings are now in the zone of impact, four of which are completely destroyed or damaged. During search and rescue operations, one woman was rescued from the rubble and is now receiving necessary medical treatment. Several cars burned in the fires, and residential areas and infrastructure objects were damaged. All these damages confirm the extent of injuries inflicted on the city by the Russian occupiers during the nighttime attack. City Authorities’ Response and On-Site Situation Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov expressed concern over the recent events and urged residents to remain as cautious as possible and follow safety recommendations. He stated that the authorities are intensively working with rescue teams, medical personnel, and law enforcement to eliminate the consequences of the strike and to locate and evacuate any potential victims. Overall, the situation in the city remains tense. Given the active combat operations and ongoing threat of further attacks, residents are advised to adhere to safety protocols and report suspicious objects and movements in the area. Another wave of concern for Kharkiv residents is the lack of electricity, water, and communication in several districts due to infrastructure damage. Local authorities call for patience, mutual help, and hope, as the fight for freedom and safety in their beloved city continues. This nocturnal attack once again confirms the brutal reality of modern warfare on Ukrainian soil, and reflects the heroism and resilience of local residents, who are forced to fight daily for their lives and future.
