Heavy Shelling with Cluster Munitions in Kharkiv: Victims and Injuries Amid Large-Scale Attack
Reports continue to emerge from Kharkiv following another enemy strike. According to the latest information, as a result of a massive attack carried out by Russian aggressors using cluster bombs, one more civilian has died, and several people are in critical condition in hospitals. Official information, provided by Kharkiv Regional State Administration Head Oleg Sinegubov via his Telegram channel, indicates that the number of those affected by the attack on Kharkiv continues to grow. On June 7, around 17:35, a series of powerful explosions rocked the city — Russian troops launched a missile strike on several districts, including Shcherbakivskyi and Kyivskyi. In total, four guided aircraft bombs were used, causing extensive destruction and human casualties. As a result of these aggressive actions, over 40 Kharkiv residents have sustained injuries of varying severity, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. Earlier, official reports stated 19 injured, but this number has since increased significantly, reflecting the scale of destruction and casualties. One tragic outcome of the attack was the death of a 62-year-old man, who had been hospitalized in critical condition the day before. Medical personnel did everything possible to save his life; however, his injuries proved too severe — he died in the medical facility. Additionally, two more victims remain in intensive care in very serious condition, with doctors describing their state as critical and fighting for every moment. Currently, even more evidence has emerged of destruction to buildings, infrastructure, and residential areas. Preliminary information indicates that among the injured is a 30-year-old woman, an employee of Ukrzaliznytsia, who became another victim of enemy shelling. She, along with many other residents, suffered from the missile strike that led to significant damage and loss of life. The circumstances of this tragic attack once again confirm that Kharkiv remains one of the main targets for Russian occupiers, who mercilessly strike at peaceful civilians. Local authorities urge residents to remain cautious, prioritize safety, and not lose hope. Condolences and support are expressed to the families of those killed, as well as to all who have suffered, by thousands of Kharkiv residents and Ukrainians nationwide. At the same time, authorities note that the enemy will not stop and continues deliberately targeting civilians, making enhanced security measures and international support necessary. It is evident that the situation in Kharkiv remains tense and increasingly resonant in society. The government and military continue to fight to repel the aggression and protect peaceful residents, but the number of casualties and destruction deeply shock society and call for unity and all possible measures to seek justice and hold the aggressor accountable.
