At the beginning of this week, Ukrainian regions are expected to experience significant deterioration of weather conditions, which will be accompanied not only by a drop in temperature but also by heavy precipitation

Meteorologists forecast that the first working day — Monday, June 9 — will bring somewhat cooler air compared to the weekend. This will noticeably impact the overall weather picture in most regions of the country, especially in the west and north — where short-term rain showers, thunderstorms, and in some areas hail and gusts of wind reaching 15–20 meters per second are possible. According to Interfax-Ukraine, citing the Hydrometeorological Center, during the night from June 8 to 9, the northwestern part of Ukraine is expected to experience typical variable weather for that region — short-term rain showers, possible thunderstorms and hail, with wind shifting from southwesterly to northwesterly at 7–12 meters per second. Daytime temperatures in the western and northern regions will fluctuate between 16–21 degrees Celsius, while in most central and southern areas, they will be between 27–32 degrees. On the south and east of the country, intense heat will persist — up to 35–37 degrees Celsius. In Kyiv, the weather on Sunday, June 8, remained dry, with a southwesterly wind at 5–10 meters per second. The temperature was quite comfortable: nighttime temperatures ranged from 20 to 22 degrees, while daytime temperatures reached 32–34. However, on Monday, the capital is expected to be slightly cooler: at night about 18–20 degrees, and during the day 26–28. The short-term rain forecast overnight is unlikely, but no precipitation is expected during the warmest hours of the day either. Regarding other regions, short-term rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Monday in the western, northern, and partly central regions — in Sumy, Odessa, Mykolaiv, and Vinnytsia. In other areas, clear and dry weather will prevail. Wind in most regions will change direction — from southwesterly to northwesterly, with gusts up to 20 meters per second in the northern regions. A temperature drop is also expected in the western regions — at night down to 10–15 degrees, and during the day down to 16–21. Meanwhile, in northern, Vinnytsia, and Cherkasy regions, nighttime temperatures will remain between 15–20 degrees, with daytime temperatures between 23–28. Throughout much of the rest of the country, warm and even very hot weather will persist: at night 17–22 degrees, and during the day 27–32. In some southern and eastern areas, intense heat of 35–37 degrees may remain for a time. Thus, the beginning of the week will bring Ukrainians not only a change in temperature regimes but also weather surprises in the form of short-term rain showers and thunderstorms. Residents of the northern and western regions should be prepared for possible precipitation and strong wind gusts, while those in the south and east should not lower their guard against high temperatures and should keep a supply of water and sun protection. Overall, meteorologists advise monitoring daily forecast updates and being cautious during unexpected weather fluctuations.
