The incident took place in the Chuhuiv district, specifically in the village of Stary Saltiv, where a drone strike damaged a residential area and several vehicles. The victims — two women aged 46 and 52, and one man — sustained serious wounds and were quickly hospitalized for medical assistance. According to information provided by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, this tragic event was the result of a "Lancet" kamikaze drone attack. The strike happened on Sunday, June 7, around lunchtime, approximately at 1:00 PM. Preliminary investigative findings indicate that the drone hit the ground in the area between a local shop and a church, causing a powerful explosion and damaging several nearby vehicles. This attack has provoked widespread outrage among residents and triggered another wave of anger over the prolonged and relentless war. Official investigative authorities have already launched a criminal investigation, qualifying this incident as a war crime under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The process of documenting the criminal actions of Russian soldiers is ongoing, with investigative teams, prosecutors, and law enforcement officials gathering all necessary evidence for future court proceedings. Such incidents have become an almost daily reality for the residents of Kharkiv region. The widespread coverage and the duration of the conflict leave no doubt that the civilian population continues to suffer from brutal strikes. Just the night before, on June 7, a Russian nighttime attack on Kharkiv resulted in the deaths of three people, with 22 others injured of varying severity, including a one-and-a-half-month-old baby. This innocent infant became one of the youngest victims of this military aggression, and the repeated strikes deeply alarm residents and raise serious concerns. The scale of the tragedy in Kharkiv region underscores the urgent need for international response and increased support for Ukraine in its fight against aggression. At the same time, local authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and follow safety rules in these difficult conditions, as Russian invaders continue active combat operations, employing various means and equipment to destroy peaceful lives and devastate regional infrastructure.
