The U
S. Embassy in Kyiv has once again raised the alert level regarding the situation around Ukraine, warning of the potential for a new large-scale Russian missile attack and cautioning U.S. citizens about the ongoing and increasing risk of airstrikes by Russia. This warning serves as another signal from the international community about the escalation of military tensions in the region amid recent events and new provocations within the framework of the war. According to information published on June 4 on the official website of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, the diplomatic mission emphasizes that over the past few weeks, Russian forces have significantly intensified their missile and air strikes against key Ukrainian infrastructure and military equipment. Sources note that there has been a prolonged and intense use of missiles and drones in large-scale attacks, which substantially increases the danger for Ukrainian civilians and military personnel during air raid alerts. In connection with this, the embassy urges Americans in Ukraine to exercise the utmost caution, be prepared to seek shelter quickly, and follow official notifications regarding air raid alerts. The diplomats have not provided specific details about the reasons for this warning. However, analysts assume that it is a response to recent events, in particular to the successful Ukrainian special operation called "Spider," carried out on June 1, which became one of the most extensive and complex operations against Russian military aviation during the entire war. According to open sources, this operation involved the targeting and destruction of a significant portion of the Russian military aircraft repository, including fighters, bombers, and long-range radar detection aircraft. Officially, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reports that as a result of "Spider," at least 41 Russian aircraft were damaged, many of which were strategic bombers such as the Tu-95, Tu-22M3, Tu-160, as well as the A-50 radar plane. NATO described this operation as "the most successful of the entire war," emphasizing that at least 40 Russian aircraft sustained serious damage, with 10 to 13 completely destroyed. The context of these events heightens tensions in the region. Meanwhile, on June 4, U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement concerning relations with Russia, emphasizing that he does not see quick pathways to peace. He mentioned that he had a "good conversation" with Russian President Vladimir Putin but warned that recent events and Russia's response could lead to further escalation. Trump noted that Putin has not expressed a willingness to quickly end hostilities and added that the Russian leader "very firmly" stated the need to respond to recent attacks on Russian bases and airfields in Ukraine. At the same time, the official Kremlin has so far refrained from public comments regarding the successful Ukrainian operation "Spider," which indicates its serious impact and potential influence on the overall military situation. The results of this operation have already sparked reactions among international analysts, highlighting that the situation in the region remains tense and unpredictable. The official Kyiv continues to call for increased defensive measures and urges the global community to support efforts in countering Russian aggression. Therefore, the threat of new missile and air strikes from Russia remains relevant and is actively covered by international media. The U.S. Embassy advises Americans in Ukraine to remain especially vigilant, as the danger level is rising and large-scale shellings that could threaten civilians and military objects are possible. It is still unknown when and which targets the Russians might choose for new attacks, but Ukrainians and their allies are preparing for any scenario.
