Russian military forces have once again resorted to aggressive actions in the Dnipropetrovsk region — this time targeting a grocery store in the city of Nikopol, located in southeastern Ukraine

The tragedy occurred on June 4, and the consequences of the attack could have been even worse if not for the prompt response of the relevant services and the bravery of the local residents. According to official information from the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, the attack was carried out using an unmanned aerial vehicle — a so-called FPV drone — which struck exactly the retail outlet. Four people were injured as a result of the strike, and the severity of their wounds is being assessed by medical personnel. Reports indicate that two of the victims — a 40-year-old woman and a fellow resident of the same age — are currently in serious condition and require specialized treatment in a hospital. They were hospitalized at nearby medical facilities with serious injuries sustained during the drone strike. The other two residents of Nikopol, aged 34, are undergoing outpatient treatment and are providing medical officials with testimony regarding their injuries and the overall picture of their wounds. The incident has caused significant resonance in the region and highlighted the increasing threat posed by Russian forces to civilians. According to Serhii Lysak, the enemy intentionally targets civilian objects, knowing that such treacherous tactics of warfare will undermine the morale of the population and increase tension in the region. Local authorities are urging residents to remain as cautious as possible and to adhere to safety protocols, especially in areas at risk of shelling and drone strikes. At the same time, law enforcement officers and specialists have intensified their work, already beginning investigations to establish all circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible. This attack in Nikopol serves as another warning to the Ukrainian community about the necessity of strengthening security measures and responding decisively to new challenges arising in the context of the war. Local residents, united by their concern, are calling for increased awareness and cooperation among various services to prevent similar tragedies in the future. This aggressive act once again underscores the danger faced by civilians in front-line regions of Ukraine and the need for comprehensive support from the state to protect peaceful citizens and restore a safe environment in the region.
