Russian forces have once again attacked civilians in Donetsk region, striking residential buildings in the settlement of Rodynske
As a result of an airstrike using a "FAB-250" bomb on Wednesday, several civilians were injured, and residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged. This incident further highlights the scale and cynicism of the war crimes systematically committed by Russia against the civilian population in eastern Ukraine. According to information released by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office on Friday through its official Facebook page, militants used a "FAB-250" aircraft bomb from UMPK launchers in a targeted attack on the residential area of Rodynske. Four local residents were seriously injured in the incident, including three women aged 56, 67, and 84, and a 66-year-old man. The source notes that the victims have been diagnosed with multiple shrapnel wounds, fractures, and mine-explosion injuries. The injured were urgently transported to medical facilities for necessary treatment. At the same time, debris and shattered windows spread to four multi-apartment residential buildings and six garages nearby, causing significant destruction and creating additional threats to local residents. Law enforcement authorities have initiated a criminal investigation into the war crime of deliberately attacking civilians, which is a serious violation of international humanitarian law. The investigation is ongoing, with experts documenting the extent of the crime and identifying all those involved in organizing and carrying out the attack. Overall, this incident in Rodynske once again confirms the brutality and mercilessness of the Russian military forces in the war against Ukraine. Local residents and communities in Donetsk are forced to survive amidst new challenges that arise daily, and the international community calls for more active responses and for bringing those responsible for crimes against humanity to justice.
