In the night of June 1 at one of the checkpoints in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv — during the curfew, when the city was undergoing intensified vehicle and personal checks — an incident took place involving an intoxicated driver and his companions. According to preliminary data from law enforcement, the suspect in this case is Дмитро Тулуб, a mixed martial arts (MMA) coach and experienced athlete with a background in provocative situations involving physical force. According to official information from the Kyiv police, that evening a vehicle driven by a young woman under the influence of alcohol was stopped at the checkpoint. She was traveling with a passenger, who was also intoxicated. Throughout the interaction with law enforcement officers, who were performing their duties as part of enhanced quarantine measures, the passenger, known for his combat skills, suddenly showed signs of aggression and contributed to escalating the situation. When the police began to take measures to detain and inspect the vehicle, his actions became even more audacious. It is known that this man, who is professionally involved in martial arts, chose the path of open aggression and directly attacked one of the National Guard soldiers, delivering a blow. As a result of the incident, force was used, and the reckless driver was detained on the spot. Law enforcement authorities have reported suspicion of administrative and criminal violations, including resistance to a law enforcement officer and violence against military personnel, under applicable articles. The relevant sanctions could include a prison sentence of up to five years. The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office officially confirmed the detention via its Telegram channels and emphasized that uncovering this incident was an initial step in the fight against hooliganism and abuse of power during duty. Law enforcement agencies remind that driving under the influence and aggressive behavior by drivers will be met with strict punishment, especially during wartime and under heightened security conditions, as such offenses have especially serious consequences and undermine the overall safety regime in the capital. The incident caused significant public resonance, as it underscores the importance of strict law enforcement during curfew hours, as well as the level of responsibility each person bears for city safety. The police have already initiated an investigation into all circumstances of the event, including verifying the aggressor's identity and exploring possible accomplices and motives behind the violence. Currently, an investigation is ongoing, along with consideration of further measures to punish the miscreant who brazenly violated public order during a critical time for the capital. The local community warns all residents and visitors to refrain from provocation and aggressive actions, as such measures are essential to ensuring peace and stability in Kyiv, even during strict restrictions.
