The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, officially announced personnel changes in the leadership of the Kherson region. On June 3, an order regarding the appointment of Yaroslav Shanko as the head of the Kherson City Military Administration (MVA) was published on the Presidential Office’s portal. This information was also confirmed on the newly elected leader’s Telegram channel, where he confidently announced his new position. Source: the relevant order available on the official resource of the Office of the President of Ukraine, as well as Yaroslav Shanko’s statements on his social network, Telegram. The text of the order from official sources reads literally: “To appoint Shanko Yaroslav Viktorovych as the head of the Kherson City Military Administration of Kherson District, Kherson Region.” This decision marked an important step in forming a new management team in southern Ukraine, tasked with ensuring stability and security in a region that until recently was under occupation. Before his appointment, Yaroslav Shanko held the position of Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration (RMA). His experience in administrative management and work with security structures gives reason to hope for effective implementation of his assigned tasks. Commenting on his appointment, Shanko noted that he understands the scale of the upcoming difficulties and has a clear vision of his priorities. In his statement, he emphasized: “I understand that there are many difficult tasks ahead. However, I guarantee: integrity, uprightness, and transparency. No empty words, only actions. Soon, I will share my first steps in this position. The main priority is — protecting people and supporting our brave soldiers.” It should be noted that Shanko’s appointment took place amid personnel changes in the region’s leadership. In April, the previous head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Roman Mrokha, was dismissed. This decision was driven by the need to strengthen administrative potential and seek new approaches to solving the region’s current problems. From now on, the new head of the Kherson City Military Administration will be responsible for community security, organizing humanitarian aid, restoring infrastructure, and facilitating the return to normal life in the region, which still remains under particular state attention. His work will be closely monitored and supported at all levels of government, as the future of Kherson and its residents depends on coordinated efforts.
