Ukraine Strikes the Crimean Bridge for the Third Time, This Time Underwater

A unique special operation by Ukrainian security forces has once again demonstrated that Kyiv maintains full control of the situation and actively opposes strategic objects of the Russian occupation army. This is the third time it has happened, and this time — in the most unexpected way: underwater. This was reported by the official press service of the Security Service of Ukraine, citing a statement from the head of the agency, Vasyl Maluk. According to sources within the SBU, the operation took several months of diligent preparation and was completed early in the morning — at 4:44 AM. At this moment, Ukrainian underwater scouts activated submerged explosive devices laid under the supports of the Crimean Bridge. Official information states that the blast power was approximately 1,100 kilograms of TNT equivalent, causing significant damage to the structures on the seabed, which in turn led to a critical state of the entire bridge. It should be recalled that this action marked the third targeted strike on a strategically important transport hub for Russia. The first two — in 2022 and 2023 — were also carried out by Ukrainian special services and became symbols of deliberate resistance and a demonstration of Ukrainian intelligence capabilities. The new underwater strike confirms that Kyiv is not limited to land-based means of opposition and is ready to employ the most advanced technologies to destroy enemy targets. The operation was carefully planned and personally coordinated by the head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Maluk. In a press interview, he stated: “God loves the Trinity, and the Security Service of Ukraine — sees its plans through to the end and never repeats its mistakes. We have already struck the Crimean Bridge twice in 2022 and 2023, and today, knowing the importance of this target, we continued the tradition — this time underwater.” The head of the SBU emphasized that the enemy’s object is an absolutely legitimate target for Ukrainian special forces, as the bridge was used by Russia as a vital logistical artery for supplying occupation forces in Crimea and southern Ukraine. “Crimea is Ukraine, and any manifestations of occupation will receive a harsh response. We will not make concessions to the aggressor and demonstrate our ability to act in any conditions,” Maluk underlined. This special operation showed that Ukrainian intelligence possesses not only high-precision equipment and expertise but also unwavering resolve and the desire to regain control over its territories. At the same time, Russian occupation authorities, losing the ability to safely utilize the Crimean Bridge for logistics, are now raising questions about the security of yet another critically important object. According to diplomatic sources, this act by Ukrainian intelligence will strengthen international support for Kyiv and underscore Ukraine’s resolve to fight for its independence and integrity by any means available. Each new strike is not only physical destruction of enemy strategic targets but also a powerful message to the world: Ukraine is prepared for any challenge and will not allow the annexation or occupation of its territory. Thus, the involvement of Ukrainian special forces in disrupting the occupiers' strategic logistics once again confirms that Russian aggression has no safe zones, and every Russian infrastructure object can become a target for Ukrainian military and intelligence. For now, Kyiv and the Ukrainian state remain firm in their positions and committed to fighting for their independence, utilizing all accessible means and demonstrating to the world the strength and indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people.
