The entire night of June 3rd was marked in Odessa by the beginning of a new Russian aggression

During the nighttime hours, the city was once again subjected to shelling by occupying forces, resulting in significant damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, as well as burned-out vehicles, which bear witness to the enemy’s ruthlessness and cynicism. Fortunately, reports indicate there are no casualties among local residents so far; however, the destruction still casts a shadow over the peaceful life of the Odessites. According to Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov, the situation in the city remains under control despite the challenging nature of the night events. In his Telegram channel, the mayor stated: “Another night attack by Russian forces. Several residential buildings and civilian infrastructure objects were damaged as a result of the shelling. Several cars were burned in the fires. No information about casualties has been received at this time, and efforts are being made to keep the life of Odessites under control.” He emphasized that city services have been tasked with working around the clock to carry out recovery and emergency repair works. The mayor also informed that an operational headquarters has been dispatched to the scene, and assessments of the extent of the damage and coordination of recovery efforts have been intensified. In the coming days, consultations with residents are planned regarding assistance from the city budget — specifically through a special recovery and compensation program that has already been launched as part of the “YaVidnovlennya” (IWillRecover) initiative. This will enable faster and more effective support for those affected by the nocturnal shelling, help restore damaged homes, and return a sense of normalcy to the lives of the residents. Utility services have immediately begun work to eliminate the aftermath of the night attack — from clearing debris to repairing damaged structures. The city authorities assure that, in close cooperation with security services and volunteers, they will make every effort to stabilize the situation and swiftly restore infrastructure facilities. The relentless struggle to endure this new wave of tension gripping the city continues. The Odessa community once again demonstrates its resilience and readiness to face the challenges brought by the war, despite destruction and the enemy’s efforts to break the spirits of peaceful residents. Hope for a swift recovery and a return to normal life lives in the hearts of every Odessite, and the city authorities are doing everything possible to ensure that these words do not remain mere words on paper.
