Russian troops have once again struck civilian areas in Kostiantynivka: a woman was killed, and there are damages and destructions of residential buildings and infrastructure
As a result of another attack by Russian occupiers in the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region, where aerial strikes occurred last night, a tragic death of a peaceful woman took place, along with significant destruction and damage to vital infrastructure. According to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office on Facebook, the city was targeted with "FAB-250" type combat bombs, which bombed residential areas and nearby objects. Official reports state that the incident occurred on June 1, 2025, around 21:35 in the evening. Russian forces launched three aircraft bombs with UMPK modules directly at the populated area. The attack damaged several private houses, destroyed infrastructure facilities including a gas pipeline and power lines, leading to widespread disruptions in water, electricity, and gas supply in the region. It is reported that during the missile strike, a 60-year-old local woman lost her life in her own home. She was hit directly, resulting in a tragic outcome for her family and everyone nearby. In addition, four other civilians sustained serious injuries: men aged 33 and 83, and women aged 73 and 78. They suffered various injuries such as traumatic brain injuries, shrapnel wounds, multiple hematomas and fractures, as well as burns. The injured were promptly transported to medical facilities and received necessary assistance. Their condition is assessed as moderate. Preliminary data indicates that at least 26 private households were damaged, with residential buildings of local residents either destroyed or partially ruined. Moreover, power supply systems, gas pipelines, and other communal infrastructure facilities were damaged, complicating life for local residents and creating additional challenges for ensuring the town’s livability. The location and extent of the destruction are confirmed by numerous photos and videos circulating on social media, as well as official statements from law enforcement authorities. Experts emphasize that these actions are yet another evidence of ongoing and deliberate military aggression by the Russian Federation, which targets civilian populations, destroys peaceful infrastructure, and creates a crisis situation. Local authorities and emergency services urge residents to exercise maximum caution and adhere to safety rules during air raid alerts and other emergencies. Meanwhile, prosecutors and police have launched an investigation into the incident to clarify all circumstances and identify those responsible. Currently, information about possible targets and the strategic motives of the strike remains unknown; however, the circumstances confirm a clear scale of humanitarian catastrophe caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
