In Ivano-Frankivsk region, a large-scale corruption scheme has been uncovered: the head of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCSC) is suspected of falsifying data concerning the mobilization of reservists

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), which has already formally notified the high-ranking official of suspicion for abusing his official position to artificially inflate the region's population mobilization statistics. The head of the TCSC, using his technical capabilities, entered false data into the automated military registration system, artificially creating records of mobilized individuals and removing them from military accounting under fictitious designations. According to the SBI press service, the official unlawfully, with his cryptographic key, interfered with the electronic database—falsifying information about the conscription of individuals into the Armed Forces of Ukraine who, in reality, were not subject to mobilization. Specifically, the suspect created fake military registration records, processed their "mobilization," removed them from the registry, and issued fictitious orders to three different military units. He was aware that all these individuals had not undergone any real mobilization and did not receive official summons. Law enforcement officials have already identified at least 17 such persons for whom the suspect submitted false information. According to investigation data, all these citizens remained at their places of residence, and the military units allegedly accepting the mobilized confirmed the absence of any mobilized personnel. The actions of the official were deliberate and aimed at creating an illusionary reporting picture to falsely show an increase in the mobilized population, which, in reality, remained in civilian environments and continued their daily lives. Investigation indicates that the suspect acknowledged his actions, suggesting a systematic pattern. He is suspected of unauthorized data modification using official access and of repeatedly committing similar acts. Under Ukrainian criminal law, such actions are punishable by up to six years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing; experts are currently checking for potential similar cases in other territorial recruitment centers across the region and beyond. Officials promise to inform later about the scope of this corruption scheme, not ruling out the possibility that the falsifications might extend to other regions or agencies responsible for mobilization. This case raises serious questions about the reliability of the statistical data collection system regarding mobilized personnel, which is often used for both internal governmental needs and external reports. Intervening in this critical sector, abusing official position, and falsifying data—these actions cause significant public concern and threaten to undermine trust in military and government institutions overall. In summary, the case of abuse of power leading to artificially inflated mobilization indicators in Ivano-Frankivsk region sparks deep outrage and calls for a thorough investigation. Law enforcement is currently working to establish all circumstances and potential links of this corruption scheme in order to swiftly put an end to such abuses and prevent future falsifications in the military registration system.
