Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has strongly addressed his fellow citizens, requesting that they take air raid alerts seriously and not neglect these emergency signals. According to him, the country's intelligence has confirmed that Russia is preparing for a new wave of extensive strikes, notably involving modern missiles and drones, which makes the situation very tense and dangerous for all Ukrainians. In his evening address, the head of state emphasized that there are already reports of active accumulation of Russian military resources for a new wave of aggression. Zelensky stated that over five hundred attack drones were recorded overnight, actively launched by the Russians towards Ukrainian territory. Additionally, considering the increasing attack capabilities, the occupying country is more and more frequently using "Caliber" missile systems from naval platforms, complicating Ukraine's air defense system and causing concern among the population. “The information we have indicates meticulous preparation by the enemy for a powerful new attack. We understand the purpose behind Russia's actions, and we will do everything possible to protect our citizens and ensure the country's security. Ukraine will defend itself by all available methods and means — military and diplomatic,” the president emphasized. Zelensky highlighted that in past years, Ukraine did not wish for war and sought peaceful negotiations, offering Russia to cease fire and engage in constructive dialogue. However, he said, Moscow refused escalation and did not confirm its readiness to negotiate, which confirms its intent to increase aggression. At the same time, the president informed that he had held detailed consultations with defense and diplomatic leadership. Notably, he mentioned a long meeting with Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibuha, Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, as well as with military and intelligence leaders. The head of state reported that during the gathering, discussions focused on expectations for upcoming talks in Istanbul, scheduled for Monday. Ukraine insists on an unconditional ceasefire and the implementation of rational, achievable steps toward peace. All proposals from Kyiv are logical and based on the desire for a stable and long-term peace, Zelensky emphasized. “We are offering our constructive position, which is based on the understanding that every pause and every step toward peace must be just and — most importantly — real. Until Russia hands over its memorandum and confirms its intent to end the war, we remain alert and will act according to the situation,” the president added. Therefore, in light of recent reports, Ukrainian authorities are calling on citizens not to delay and to stay vigilant, as enemy intentions are becoming increasingly aggressive. It is expected that the coming days may bring new trials for the country, while the Armed Forces command continues to carefully monitor the situation to ensure safety and stability across all regions. It is only to be hoped that negotiations in Istanbul will make the first step toward comprehensive and lasting peace, but Ukrainians must be prepared for any scenario and equally support the defense and remain calm.
