Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga once again emphasized Russia’s unwillingness to achieve true peace by providing Western partners with a detailed video shot from his personal home, clearly demonstrating the work of Ukraine’s air defense during a massive Russian air attack

In the short video posted by Sybiga on his X (formerly Twitter) account, loud explosions and automatic gunfire can be heard, which responded to Russian during nocturnal strikes near his immediate vicinity. The minister accompanies the video with the words: “Listen to the sounds over my house – and over thousands of Ukrainian homes – this morning. Ukraine’s air defense successfully repels Russian strikes.” According to him, since last night, Ukraine has been under large-scale air attacks, during which terrorist Russian forces are employing ballistic, cruise, and cassette missiles, as well as hundreds of drones targeting civilian infrastructure and residential areas. Sybiga emphasized that despite Russia’s demonstrative rhetoric about its desire for peace, its actions clearly tell a different story. He stated that Russia has not presented any official documents or “memoranda” indicating its intentions to achieve peace — instead, it continues launching deadly weapons across Ukraine. “Unlike the mythical ‘memorandum,’ we see and hear Russia’s real messages – its missiles and drones,” the Ukrainian minister underlined, calling on international partners to intensify diplomatic and economic pressure on the Kremlin leadership. He is convinced that only after such pressure will Russia start to take the possibility of peace more seriously. As is known, on Monday, June 2, in Istanbul, Russia announced its intention to resume negotiations with Ukraine by presenting a “memorandum” with proposals for a ceasefire and ending the war. However, Kyiv stresses that it is necessary to review the Russian document in advance to understand its true nature and whether it can serve as a foundation for the long-awaited peace. Ukrainian diplomatic circles note that any negotiations are only possible if Russia demonstrates genuine interest in ending hostilities and fulfilling a series of control points, which the Kremlin has not yet done. Therefore, Ukrainian officials once again emphasize that the only way to end the war is to increase international pressure on Russia, forcing it to change its stance and cease destabilizing actions. Only then will there be a chance for a just and balanced peace that considers Ukraine’s interests and the security of the entire global community. Meanwhile, Ukrainians remain in a state of constant readiness, defending their land and demonstrating to the world their resilience and steadfastness in the face of new Russian aggressions.
