According to data from regional military administrations, on May 31st, two more civilians were killed in the two regions, with over 15 wounded. The most tragic figure is that one person was killed in Kherson Oblast, and another in Donetsk Oblast. According to reports from the Kherson Regional Military Administration, as of today, a civilian has been killed in the region, confirming the scale of the tragedy. Additionally, eight more residents of the region were wounded as a result of another shelling carried out by Russian military forces. The shelling was mainly directed at critical infrastructure and residential neighborhoods, significantly affecting the safety and daily life of local residents. According to reports, Russian OMON forces intentionally targeted residential buildings in the region. As a result of these attacks, five multi-storey buildings were damaged, and seven private houses were destroyed. There was also damage to social and critical infrastructure: a gas pipeline was ruptured, outbuildings and private cars were damaged. These actions indicate a deliberate policy of destroying vital objects to undermine the safety and comfortable living conditions of local residents. In Donetsk region, the situation remains tense. There, the Russians also recorded the death of another civilian — in the city of Rodyne. Moreover, over the past day, the number of wounded has reached seven. Two of them were injured in Slovyansk and Novodonetsk, and one each in Rodyne, Pokrovsk, and Mykolaivka. These data indicate ongoing targeted strikes on populated areas, leading to human casualties and catastrophic destruction. Local authorities and the military are urging residents to exercise maximum caution, as the situation remains unstable and shows signs of deterioration. The occupiers continue to use shelling as a means of intimidating the population and destroying essential infrastructure in regions under Ukrainian control. This aggression contributes to the escalation of the humanitarian crisis, which has already affected the Donetsk and Kherson regions due to prolonged fighting and the destruction of valuable infrastructure facilities. According to Ukrainian official sources, the situation in the regions remains tense, with daily increases in human losses and destruction. Local authorities call on civilians to stay cautious, emphasizing the importance of following security measures and evacuation recommendations. Meanwhile, military personnel and volunteers are working to provide assistance to the affected as quickly as possible and to stabilize the situation locally. This situation once again confirms that Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, and the civilian population again bears the heaviest toll. Residential neighborhoods, critical infrastructure, and human lives are being destroyed — all of which causes deep sorrow and anxiety among residents of the regions. Ukraine continues to fight for its independence and security, urging the international community to strengthen support and to use all available means to hold perpetrators of these crimes accountable.
