War on the Eastern Front: Nearly Equal Number of Battles in the Kursk and Pokrovske Directions
According to the daily report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10 p.m., the situation on the front remains tense and dynamic. Over the past 24 hours, nearly 140 combat clashes have occurred in the eastern part of the country, indicating a high level of activity from both sides, especially in the Pokrovske and Kursk directions, where the number of attacks is nearly comparable. In the Pokrovske direction, enemy forces attempted 36 breaches of Ukrainian defenses. The main fire was directed towards the settlements of Zorya, Nova Poltavka, Myrolubivka, Malinivka, Yelyzavetivka, Dachenke, Lysivka, Udaine, Novoserhiivka, Kotlyarivka, and Andriivka. Fighting also occurred around the settlements of Novomykolaivka, Oleksiivka, Popiv Yar, and Poltavka. The enemy used artillery, aviation, and rocket salvo systems. As a result, Ukrainian defenders inflicted significant losses on the enemy — approximately 98 occupiers were destroyed, and over 80 were wounded or captured. An airstrike on Zorya was particularly destructive, destroying a considerable amount of enemy equipment and personnel. On the Kursk direction, 34 combat engagements were recorded. The enemy forces, during the day, not only attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses but also launched 16 airstrikes, dropping a total of 34 guided bombs. Over 210 artillery shelling incidents were also reported, including one from rocket salvo systems. Military reports indicate that the enemy tried to break through the Ukrainian line with rapid attacks near the settlement of Lyman. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled most attacks and destroyed about 180 occupiers, 98 of whom were confirmed dead. In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attempted 18 offensive operations. Attacks occurred in the areas of Zelenaya Dolina, Karpivka, Novy Mir, Hrekiivka, Torske, Serebryanske Forest, and Ridkodub. Four of these attacks were successfully repelled, with 14 ongoing. In Kharkiv region, Ukrainian forces also demonstrated a high level of resolve. The enemy made two attempts to break through near Lystsi and Vovchansk — both attacks were successfully halted by Ukrainian defenders. In the Kupiansk direction, the occupiers launched nine assaults in the areas of Pishchane, Stepi Novoselivka, and Zahrizne. The battles are ongoing, and Ukrainian troops are actively defending their positions. In the Siversk direction, the enemy conducted two attacks in the areas of Hryhorivka and Verkhniokamianske. Ukrainian defenders successfully held their positions without significant losses. On the Kramatorsk front, Ukrainian forces repelled two assaults around Chasiv Yar, Bilohorivka, and Kurdiumivka. Three battles are still underway. On the Toretsk sector, the armed forces repelled eight attacks near Krymske and Toretsk, but fighting continues. Several other directions have become focal points of combat operations. For example, on the Novopavlivske sector, the enemy made nine attempts to breach defenses near Horikhove, Bahtyr, Zelene Pole, Novopil, and Vilne Polye; Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled all attacks, with three still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy carried out airstrikes on several settlements, including Novodaryivka, Olhivske, Piddubne, and Novopil. On the Huliaipole sector, the occupiers attacked settlements of Malinivka, Huliaipole, Dolinka, Verkhnya Terska, Temyrivka, and Poltavka, conducting airstrikes. The enemy also tried to advance in the Okhiv sector towards Pavilka, Novodanilivka, Stepi, and Maly Shcherbaki. Ukrainian forces held their positions, but fighting continues. In the south, on the PriDniprovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped one attempt to breach, while the enemy launched airstrikes on the settlement of Lviv. Overall, the situation remains tense, but Ukrainian forces are holding the line, even under difficult conditions of the war. In summary, the situation on the front remains complex and high-risk.
