Escalation in Kharkiv region: Russian shelling in Kupiansk and Vovchansk Huturs claimed lives and wounded several civilians
Once again, distressing news arrives from Kharkiv region, where civilians have suffered as a result of ongoing Russian aggression. According to Oleksii Sinehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, on the evening of May 31, Russian forces launched a serious attack on the city of Kupiansk and the village of Vovchansk Hutu rs. Tragically, a woman was killed, and several others were injured, including a man who experienced an acute stress reaction. Following the enemy shelling in Vovchansk Hutu rs, an FPV drone attack was recorded on the territory where local residents were engaged in gardening. This incident further highlights the cynicism of Russian military actions, as they attempt to intimidate the local population and disrupt the peace of peaceful civilians by any means. Less than a few hours prior, in Kupiansk — a city located near the front lines — several residents were affected by the actions of the occupiers. According to the latest reports, a 63-year-old woman was killed during a shelling. Another resident, a 65-year-old man, suffered a severe nervous shock amid the stressful events and is currently receiving medical assistance. In addition, two more locals — a 47-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man — were wounded in the attacks. They were taken to the nearest hospital, where doctors and specialists can provide the necessary care. The condition of the injured is assessed as varying in severity, but medical personnel are making every effort to stabilize their health. Overall, the situation in Kharkiv region is worsening. Earlier that morning, Russian forces used KABs — specialized combat complexes — against the region, causing injuries to at least seven civilians. This indicates the regularity and scale of enemy attacks, as well as their deliberate attempt to destroy peaceful life in the area. The ongoing shellings and attacks, which continue almost daily, once again confirm the level of threat posed by the Russian invasion to the peaceful residents of Kharkiv region. Local authorities urge residents to remain vigilant, follow safety recommendations, and understand that the situation remains challenging and unpredictable.
