Weather forecast for June: rain showers and warm days, but not everywhere
According to the latest data from the Ukrhydrometcenter, the beginning of summer in Ukraine will be marked by changeable weather with transitional periods of rain and warmth. The last days of May and the first part of June are already demonstrating the characteristic unpredictability of atmospheric processes typical for this period: short-term rains, thunderstorms, and significant temperature fluctuations are expected in most regions. The forecast indicates that substantial precipitation will not cover the entire country, but large regions will still be affected. Based on official information from the Ukrhydrometcenter, for example, on the night of May 30, short-term rainfall is expected in the western and eastern parts of Ukraine, with light showers and thunderstorms possible across the country during the day, except for the western territories. The next day, May 31, rainfall will intensify in the Left-bank regions, Crimea, and western areas, where short-term showers and thunderstorms are possible. Meanwhile, in Kyiv and other central regions, short-term rains are expected in the evening, along with a gradual decrease in temperature. The average temperature indicators during this period remain quite comfortable. Night temperatures will fluctuate between 9-16°C, and in the western parts of the country, including the Carpathians, it will be slightly cooler: 6-11°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to 18-25°C, with the western regions experiencing 15-20°C. In the Carpathians, the heat will be milder: daytime temperatures between 11-18°C and nighttime temperatures between 3-10°C. Winds during this period will mostly come from the northwest, with speeds varying from 5 to 10 meters per second. Regarding Kyiv, the first half of the upcoming month will surprise residents with a beautiful combination of changing cloudiness and almost no precipitation. On Friday, May 31, a small rain is expected in the capital, with nighttime temperatures around 12-14°C, and daytime temperatures rising to +21…+22°C. On Saturday, June 1, it will be cloudy with some clearings and no precipitation. Night temperatures will remain around 12-14°C, while daytime temperatures will pleasantly reach +24°C and higher. Winds from the northwest will persist, with speeds not exceeding 10 meters per second. Thus, the first day of summer 2024 in Ukraine promises to be changeable, with comfortable temperatures suitable for walks and active recreation. Precipitation will be fleeting and will not cover the entire country but will leave traces in the form of short-term showers in the south, east, and the Carpathians. Overall, June will continue to delight with warmth and sunshine; however, it is advisable to be prepared for unexpected atmospheric fluctuations and rainy periods in different regions.
