An emergency situation occurred in Kharkiv region related to an explosion near military vehicles belonging to the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center
One serviceman was injured in the incident and had to have his hand amputated due to serious wounds. The event caused a resonance in Kharkiv and raised questions about the safety of military personnel performing their duties in rear zones. According to preliminary information received from representatives of the Kharkiv OTKC (Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center), everything happened in the evening at one of the premises located near the military vehicles. A man, who was nearby his vehicle at the time, discovered a suspicious object resembling an explosive device nearby. After the serviceman came across the suspicious item, an explosion occurred. As a result, he sustained severe injuries — his hand and other parts of his body were damaged. The military commanders responded promptly to the emergency — first aid was provided at the scene to the injured serviceman, and an emergency call was made. Medics quickly transported the injured to the nearest hospital, where a team of surgeons was forced to perform a complex operation, including the amputation of his hand. Currently, there is no threat to the serviceman’s life, and he is under constant medical supervision; his condition has stabilized. Government and law enforcement agencies have already initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. It is known that the man was transferred to the TRC (Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center) from a combat brigade due to health reasons — after a previous injury, he was undergoing rehabilitation and was assigned to service in rear units. This indicates that he had previous military experience and a sense of responsibility for his work. At present, the investigation is establishing what exactly caused the explosion and clarifying all the circumstances of the event. Law enforcement officers have entered the relevant data into the Unified State Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, and a criminal case has been initiated under articles that provide for violations of safety rules when handling explosive subjects. Additionally, in the Kharkiv TRC and Social Support Center, additional safety briefings and training sessions are ongoing for personnel to prevent similar incidents in the future. Overall, the incident serves as a reminder of the need to intensify control over the circulation of explosive materials in rear areas, as well as a call to strengthen security measures. Meanwhile, Ukrainian society is discussing this tragedy, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety standards and enhancing the protection of military facilities. The background of this incident also has another aspect — on May 27 in Cherkasy city, police detained three men and one woman on suspicion of attacking employees of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center. This creates additional tension and suggests possible internal security challenges affecting defense structures across Ukraine. Law enforcement agencies are working to establish all details and motives behind this case, as each security breach has nationwide significance.
