Ukrainian drones struck a strategically important Russian facility that produces cruise missiles
On the night of May 27 to 28, Ukrainian unmanned systems once again demonstrated their effectiveness by launching a powerful strike against one of the largest strategic sites on Russian territory—the “Raduga” (Rainbow) plant named after Bereznyak, located in Dubna, approximately 130 kilometers north of Moscow’s metropolitan area. This enterprise, part of the Russian defense industry, specializes in the production of various types of cruise missiles and is a key element in Russia’s armament system. According to informed sources within Ukrainian intelligence agencies and the General Staff, the attack was carried out using high-precision drones that successfully bypassed air defense systems protecting Moscow, hitting two critical production areas within the facility: the assembly shop and the equipment workshop. A fire broke out on the site of the strike, which is currently being contained by firefighting units. The plant is a division of the “Tactical Missile Armament” corporation, which develops cruise missiles in the “air-to-air,” “air-to-ground,” and “ground-to-ground” categories. Among its products are missiles such as the Kh-101, Kh-555, Kh-69, Kh-59MK, used by the Russian Federation in its terrorist campaign against Ukraine, deliberately targeting civilian populations and infrastructure. According to clarified data from the General Staff, the “Kronshtadt” plant—where this facility operates—specializes in the development and manufacture of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). They produce popular drones among military and industrial circles, including the “Orion,” “Inokhodets,” “Thunder,” “Grom,” “Termit,” “Helios,” and “Sirius,” as well as ground control complexes for these systems. These UAV technologies are used by Ukrainian defenders on the front lines to carry out precise strikes against the enemy. An equally important aspect is the report of a nighttime Ukrainian strike in the Moscow region, where an attack targeted LLC “Agnstrem.” This enterprise specializes in developing and manufacturing microelectronic components widely used in the Russian military-industrial complex. The strike resulted in a precise hit in the target area, demonstrating the high level of preparation and coordination of Ukrainian attack systems. Additionally, several days ago, Ukrainian drones carried out a precise strike on the “Dmitrivsky” plant in the Ivanovo region—an area known for producing organic chemical substances used as components in manufacturing explosives, gunpowder, and additives for missile and aviation fuels. Explosions and fires observed at the plant confirmed the destruction of potentially military and industrial facilities within the Russian defense sector. These targets reflect a systematic approach by Ukrainian forces in selecting objects that hold strategic importance in Russia’s war against Ukraine and the capability of Ukrainian drones to deliver pinpoint strikes on vital infrastructure and military sites, thereby crippling the enemy’s military potential and logistical chains. Disrupting the operation of the “Raduga” plant and similar facilities further evidences the escalating Ukrainian counteroffensive in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles, which is becoming an increasingly significant component of Ukraine’s overall defense strategy. The terrain and the Russian fortification line subjected to Ukrainian strikes complicate logistics and increase the defensive risk for the enemy, forcing Moscow to continuously adjust its plans regarding weapons production and logistics support. This once again confirms the ability of Ukrainian intelligence and military units to operate with high precision using modern technology, becoming an ever more effective factor in the fight against Russian aggression.
