Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in his recent video address published on social media, emphasized Ukraine's ambitious plans to strengthen its defense capabilities and preparedness to deliver mirror responses to any aggressive actions from Russia. According to him, this will become a key element in the growing deterrence strategy. Zelensky highlighted that the Ukrainian authorities are actively working on substantially increasing the production of drones and long-range missiles to enhance defense and enable timely and effective responses to Russian attacks. He announced that in the near future, Ukraine will sign new agreements and arrangements with European partners that will allow investments in this sector and the development of the country’s high-tech potential. It was noted that the main focus is on creating modern unmanned aerial vehicles and long-range missile systems. According to the President, these components play a crucial role in the ongoing war Ukraine is engaged in, and their production is strategically vital for maintaining a balance of power. "We cannot disclose all our plans and capabilities publicly," he emphasized. "But it is entirely clear that our goal is to mirror all challenges and threats coming from Russia. We need and will be able to provide an appropriate level of response. They, in Russia, must clearly feel the consequences of their actions against Ukraine, and this will become our reality." Zelensky also pointed out that the primary aim is to create systems capable of deploying strike drones, as well as interceptors, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. He is convinced that these components are "key elements" in modern warfare and will ensure Ukraine’s ability to respond effectively to any form of aggression. It is worth recalling that on May 26, Volodymyr Zelensky, as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, tasked to accelerate Ukrainian production of intercepting drones and missiles to strengthen the country's defense potential. This decision reflects a strategic course towards self-sufficiency and technological enhancement of the Ukrainian army in response to increased Russian activity and escalation of the conflict. It is evident that Kyiv's government aims to create a multi-layered defense system that will not only deter the aggressor but also enable mirror strikes capable of shifting the balance of power on the battlefield and introducing a new quality into the war for Ukraine’s independence.
