Russian occupiers, only a few hours after the start of the dawn, carried out another attack in Kherson, this time targeting local utility workers who were fulfilling their duties in maintaining the city’s liveliness

On the night of May 26 to 27, an attack was launched on a municipal enterprise in the Korabelnyi district of the city using an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone), which dropped an explosive device directly onto a service vehicle belonging to КП "Parки Kherson" (Kherson Parks). As a result of the attack, six people were seriously injured, several with mine-explosive injuries and concussions. This is yet another act of aggression by the occupiers against residents and city workers, confirming that the situation in the region remains tense and unpredictable. According to the Kherson City Military Administration, the incident occurred early in the morning of May 27. Preliminary reports indicate that the enemy used a lethal unmanned aerial vehicle — a so-called "kamikaze drone" — to drop explosives onto the service vehicle which was at that moment preparing for repairs of social infrastructure facilities damaged in previous shellings. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kherson region clarifies that during this period, the employees of КП "Kherson Parks" were engaged in installing protective barriers from tiles to cover broken windows — work necessary to stabilize the situation at essential city facilities. Overall, six individuals were injured in the attack: two women aged 44 and 61, and four men aged 43, 49, 58, and 67. Preliminary information indicates they sustained mine-explosive injuries and concussions. Medical professionals are currently conducting further examinations, providing necessary assistance, and taking measures to stabilize their conditions. According to doctors, the severity of the injuries is significant and requires long-term treatment. This horrific incident repeatedly reminds us of the danger facing peaceful residents and workers in Kherson and the region as a whole. The enemy, employing drones and weapons for targeted attacks, seeks to undermine not only infrastructure but also the psychological state of the population, while simultaneously demonstrating their impunity and deliberate aggression toward civilians. The local authorities urge residents to remain cautious, and law enforcement agencies continue to enhance security measures in the city and monitor safety protocols during such criminal and military provocations. This is not the first case of deliberate terror against the residential and communal infrastructure in Kherson. Such attacks threaten the stable functioning of the city and require efforts from both authorities and citizens for maximum mobilization and resistance. Criminal acts committed by Russian military forces confirm that peace and security in southern Ukraine remain under attack, and residents—faced with danger—continue to fight for their right to life and peace. Local rescue services, medical personnel, and law enforcement agencies have already begun search and investigative measures to clarify all circumstances of the attack. Meanwhile, Ukrainian and international representatives insist on strengthening sanctions and increasing international pressure on the aggressor country to stop such clear crimes against humanity and save civilian lives. This incident once again demonstrates that even in 2023, the conflict in southern Ukraine remains very relevant and brazen. The local community and authorities reiterate calls for unity, patience, and unwavering faith in the quick return of peace and security. At the same time, society is vigilantly monitoring development of the situation, as each new day brings fresh challenges to the safety and lives of Kherson residents and all of Ukraine.
